Weekly Stash Challenge - week 22

Hello everyone, another week is here already!  This week the sketch is more general, because I had to make birthday cards so thought I would kill 2 birds with one stone.... lol.

Judging by the traffic, life is getting back to much more like normal, so hopefully we can resume some sort of class soon.  It may still need to be socially distanced, but that is manageable in our hall so as soon as we get some sort of indication it will be reopening, we will give some thought to how to do it for those of you who want to come along.

In the meantime, here is the sketch and tic tac toe for this week.

And here is my example.

My card was made solely using items from an old Tattered Lace box kit  (number 1, I think).  For some reason, I never use the papers in these kits, mainly sticking to the dies and stamps they have in them, and therefore the papers were intact.  Not now...

The only thing I die cut was the flower, using the scrap paper remaining after I cut out the mats and layers, and the flourishes (from scrap white card).  I used a single gem in the centre of the flower, and I used glitter glue to make the centre of the flowers on the main topper sparkle.

I am really happy to be using up some of this stash that I have built up over MANY years doing these challenges - it hasn't made a big dent in what I have, but it is a start.

Hope you all remain safe and well - and if you are still joining in, happy crafting!

Weekly Stash Challenge week 21

The weeks are going by so fast, aren't they?  I swear, this year is going to be gone before we know it (and thank goodness for that!!!)

I am still making Christmas Cards - first year EVER I won't have the November panic....  but you don't need to make it a Christmas theme - just disregard the Christmas references and make whatever card you like.  Remember, this is fun!

I have also found this challenge really helpful in making me concentrate on using up my stash - all those kits I bought and stroked and put away are now coming into their own!  Because I am just doing Christmas, I have basically just put the kits I want to use in a bag and each week I rummage through that to find something to make.  It is all getting mixed up, but most importantly, it is getting used. I can honestly say I haven't bought anything to make my cards over these 21 weeks - it is all stuff I already had.

Anyway, on with the challenge for this week. Here is the sketch and tic tac toe for week 21.

And here is my sample card for this week.

This card was made using some of a Snowman kit I have had for years.  I used some of it last year, but it was huge, so there was loads left.

I used a scalloped edge 6 x 6 card as my base,   I layered a square of dark blue snow paper onto some teal (?) backing paper then wrapped some ribbon across the bottom almost half way up.  I stuck the bow in the same ribbon onto the right hand side, and attached a diecut topper to the left hand side using foam pads.  Finally, I stuck a die cut sentiment in the top right hand corner using foam pads.

This was a super quick and easy card to make - but I really like it.

I hope those of you still joining in are having fun - and those of you who aren't are enjoying looking at the makes!  Stay safe everyone...

Weekly stash challenge week 20

Who would ever have believed that we would be up to week 20 of this weekly challenge?  Things are very gradually beginning to normalise though, and we are starting to resume our lives.  This means that many of us are having less crafting time, and less cards are being made.

I will continue to post sketches for the next few weeks (mainly because my need for completion makes me want to achieve 26 weeks - 6 months) but there is no compulsion to join in.  Everyone who wants to do so is welcome, but at the moment I am looking at the weekly publication as a stick to make me finish my christmas cards, LOL.

Anyway, onwards.  Here is the sketch and tic tac toe for this week.

And here is my card for this week.

My tic tac toe is the centre middle line - Flowers, Diecut, Ribbon.

I used a 5 x 7 base card and onto this I layered some backing paper from my stash.  I used some scraps to make the three squares, and mounted them onto some pearlised card, and stuck them onto the card base.

I used a die from my stash to cut the base of the flower stem from some scrap green card, and stuck onto that some pre-made poinsettias that I bought in Hobbycraft years ago - much quicker than making your own!

I tied a ribbon bow with chiffon ribbon and stuck it in place with hot glue.  Finally, I stuck the sentiment from the kit I have been using in recent weeks in the bottom left corner.  I really like this one!

Happy crafting all - and stay safe!

Weekly stash challenge - week 19

Time is flying by - and sadly, although restrictions are slowly lifting, we are still having to be cautious about getting together in a big group again.  But we will!  I have had some internet issues this week, but it seems to be back at the moment (fingers crossed) so I will get this post done quickly!

Here is the sketch for week 19 of our weekly challenge - I hope you like it.
and here is the tic tac toe.
As always, both sketch and tic tac toe are for inspiration - if they don't inspire you, then just do your own thing!

Here is my card for this week.  The tic tac toe line is centre vertical - decoupage, christmas, layers.

I used basic card from a paper pad, a scalloped 6 x 6 card and a die cut decoupage image from the Christmas kit I have been using all along.

I layered the patterned papers first, then added the decoupaged topper.  I added some gold and white bakers twine across the corner and onto that I stuck some fussy cut christmas trees from the paper pad set.

The sentiment was also from the kit.  Finally, I added some small gold gems at the top of each tiny tree.

Hope you all have a good week!

Weekly Stash Challenge week 18

How fast is time going by?  I can't believe we are at week 18 already.  Without further ado, here is the sketch and the tic tac toe for this week.

I have struggled with the heat this week, so my card is a quick one from the stash of kits that I have!

I used a 6 x 6 scalloped card for the base, and onto that I layered some backing paper from the kit.  Using the complementary decoupage sheet, I layered up the central topper, and stuck it onto the background on top of a die cut frame from my stash.

The sentiment was also on the decoupage sheet, and the last touches were the gems in the corners, and a small bow from bakers twine.

Anyway, that is it for this week - I hope you all enjoy this sketch, and stay safe until next time.
