January - A pop up card

Yesterday's cardmaking class was the last one for this year.  We will be back again in the new year...

For January, the class project will be provided by Jackie - and we will be doing a pop up card that cunningly folds flat to go into a 6 x 6 envelope!

Basic equipment will be required for this project - glue, double sided tape, scissors.  All other materials will be provided.

Instructions:

November - Christmas cards!

 This month the projects are supplied by Debbie, and we will be doing 3 cards and a gift envelope.  Basic equipment (i.e. glue, scissors etc) will be required for these projects.

The first is a six inch square scalloped card with a winter scene topper

 

The second is a traditional nativity scene in a landscape DL card, made with glitter card die cuts.

 

 

The third is  a stepper card, again with winter scene embellishments.

 

And lastly, there is the gift envelope.

October - A Christmas gift box

 This month the class will be led by Jackie and the project we are doing is a Christmas gift box.

In my example (right), I have included a battery operated candle, which I bought in The Range for £2.99, but you could use a real candle (unlit!!), pot pourri, chocolates, or what I am considering for presents this year - a mug filled with a sachet of hot chocolate and small packet of mini marshmallows!

All the materials needed for making the box will be provided (not the candle) and you will just need to bring with you scissors, glue, and some colouring pens - red, green, orange and greys - and anything else you want to add as an embellishment.

September - get ahead for Christmas!

This month we are getting ahead on our Christmas card production and have two beautiful cards by Brenda.

Both cards feature embossed panels and die cut village scene with a die cut poinsettia.

One card is navy blue with white, and the other is white on white, but both are stunning.

All materials will be provided, basic crafting tools (scissors, glue) will be required.

Summer Workshops - 9th August 2014

Summer workshop time is here again.. If you wish to attend, and have not yet put your name down, please ring Ann, or email us, but you must do this by 21st July 2014.  People asking after this date may not be accepted.

This time round we are doing the following projects, with one half of the group doing one at a time, either am or pm:

Jackie will be doing a decorated clip board - useful for hanging in the kitchen (for shopping lists, recipes, notepad for notes) or anywhere else (to display a photo in a frame).

All papers and embellishments and clipboard will be provided.  Please note that the photoframe has been shown as an example only, and the  papercolour will vary - a selection will be provided for you to choose which ones you want to use.

Brenda will be doing either:

A  box card

The front

On the inside


 OR

2 cards

All materials to make the projects will be provided. Please let Ann or Brenda know which option you wish to do.

You will need to bring your own cold drinks and packed lunch, but tea and coffee and cake will be available.

June - For him and for her

 Debbie is leading the class this month and we will be making three cards.  Basic supplies only are required - scissors, glue and foam pads.

The first involves a stamped image and candi pieces (no, not sweets - the card!).  This is a clean and simple contemporary card.

Please note, the colour will not be this teal colour - the image is for illustration only.

 The second card is one for the ladies and involves a very simple but elegant decoupaged image.

Lastly, there is a card for the boys.  Another clean and simple decoupaged image, of some very smart shirts on stands.

May - Scrap inspiration...

This month it  is Jackie's turn to lead the class.  She is going to show how  cards can be made from small scraps of backing paper just with the addition of a base card and some embellishments from your stash. 

For the purpose of the class, you will be using one A4 sheet of backing paper cut into various shapes - but you will obviously have lots of your scraps at home that you can use in the same way. 

For this class, you will need:

• A pencil
• A ruler
• Scissors
• Glue/double sided tape
• A thin black pen
• A white gel pen
• Wink of stella clear pen or stardust clear sakura pen (optional)

These are some inspirational pictures  - we will be making 3 of your choice of these in the class - but you can carry on and see how many others you can create with the material left over!
