January - constructed shoe and cards using peel offs

This month the projects were courtesy of Brenda.

The first was a constructed shoe using templates, which was amazingly lifelike!

The second project was two A5 cards, decorated with punched paper and peeloffs stuck onto decorative paper and cut out. They were then mounted onto the card using foam pads or silicone glue. This picture is one of them.

November 2009

This month the choice was 2 Christmas cards, or a calendar, courtesy of Jackie.

The first card was a gatefold A4 card in blue with a teabag folded insert highlighting the nativity. The insert inside the card was folded using a teabag fold so that the nativity picture was framed.

The second card was DL in landscape, with a snowman backing paper and a decoupaged snowman on a topper. Diecut snowflakes provided a highlight.

The Calendar was made using scrapbooking techniques, and showed three months at a time. Each page had a seasons theme - spring, summer, autumn and winter. We used photographs and sentiments to fit the season chosen, and added embellishments.

October 2009

We had an option this month, courtesy of Brenda. There were a number of cards to choose from, and this is a small selection. First, is a Christmas card, using green cardstock and a snowman image stamped and embossed using white on a black card.

Another of the cards we made was the ever popular cameo, layered onto a gatefold card with a patterned background and with a decoupaged bonnet.

Black and white is always a basis for a striking card - and cost effective too, if the images are photocopied.

Summer workshop - 25th July 2009

The cost for the day will be £14, and for this all the materials you will need to make each card will be provided. It would be helpful if you have basic equipment like scissors, glue, doublesided tape, if you could bring it, but if you have nothing, equipment will be available for you to use. In order to make sure we have enough kits, we do need you to let us know you will be coming along. To book your place, please contact Ann on 01708 768580.

Summer School 2009

Last year's summer school was so well received, we are going to be doing another one! This year, the craft day will be Saturday 25th July and the beading day will be Sunday 26th July. This will be the final send off for our current home - the St John the Devine Church Hall, which will then be closing, having been sold by the Church.

Why not come along? It will be a whole day crafting, so you will need to bring drinks and a packed lunch.

Future classes will be taking place at the Collier Row Community Centre - the same dates as in our schedule. Look out for more information about the new venue, which will be from September.

Craft class - May 2009

This month our card was extra special (courtesy of Brenda). A stylish black and white (with hint of colour) multi fold card, this one has that extra special look about it.

Craft Class - April 2009

Apologies for the delay in posting...

This month we made two cards. The first card was a flowershop, decoupaged and using flower soft to enhance the printed image.

Three sheets of a single image was used, with the unwanted items being cut out. Some adventurous people went further, and also cut out the window panes in the door and put acetate behind to simulate glass - an effective trick!

The flowersoft was used on the flowers in the flower boxes, the hanging basket and on the canopy.

A small stamped bird was used to brighten up the corner of the canopy and a greeting tag was used at the bottom.

The second class was a small A6 card which showcased the use of the cuttlebug embossing folders. The same pattern was used on both the blue backing card, and the white panel. A stamped image was embossed onto white card for the topper.
